You'll also see what the Ghostbusters HQ staff is up to in their gear as they run around town on October 31, really busting some heads, in a spiritual sense of course. So arm those neutrana wands and unlicensed nuclear accelerators, and more importantly those cameras and prepair for all out war with the ghoulies. Because this Halloween there is only one line of defense, and it's their busiest night! Ghostbusters 2120 creator Jay
Young provides this picture of himself "back in the day."The Year was 1986. I was 11 years old, and the hype of the ghostbusters was rolling around my head. I played the Theme song over and over everyday, I drew Pictures of ghosts and creatures of the night, then came the opportunity to show off my creative powers... The was an Airband at school (commonly know as Lipsyncing contest as well.) Most kids dressed up as Michel Jackson, or some other musical artist, and mouthed the words to their favorite song. Well for little Jay Young, this was a chance to show his love of the ghostbusters. Together with his friends Gary and Perry Mah, twin chinese guys, they were the ghostbusters. no one sang at all, but we did a little dance, and a bit of a ghost catching skit. We bought painter's overalls, and got some boxes from the local grocery store, and made our packs. The wand consisted of an empty 2 Liter milk carton. So was the trap. A Milk carton that had the trap doors cut in the top. Our ghost was a helium balloon with a paper towel taped to it, with a scary face drawn on it. The ghost was held by a string that went down, and into the trap Carton, and out through the trap's handle, and over to me, where I could pull on the string, and the ghost would lower into the trap. I know what you are saying, how could a balloon fit inside a milk carton. Well, inside the trap, I taped a sewing needle pointing upward, so that when the ghost got low enough, he popped, and got sucked into the trap. I got a 68% for my creativity, but the rest of the mark was lost because I never actually sang anything. But a 68% on a song for not singing anything I thought was pretty good. I also thought that I was pretty smart for the ghost and the trap stuff. For 11 years old. Anyway, that's it. I still love the GBs and will for ever more I think. - Jay Young
Better watch out bud, if he's swallowing that chair whole, looks like you might be next on the menu!
Thanks be to Tony for sending in this one!
Wow, that's one Stay Puft sister. If I were him, I'd have her taken to the doctor immediately following this picture, she does look kind of pale (to quote Venkman). No, all kidding aside look at these costumes from Mike and his sister. They really go all out! Check back here for more as Mike promises pictures of his whole family in GB attire! How cool is that?
I also enjoy the professional looking photo shoot that it looks like he endured to get the photos to the HQ, thanks to the Old Ghosthead! |
