Incredible World of DIC line-up announced...
Busted Friday, August 29, 2003, 1:25 PM by Netsolo

No Real Ghostbusters in sight for "The Incredible World of DIC." According to the cover of today's "Hollywood Reporter" the line-up does include a fre 80s classics, but Real Ghostbusters is absent.

The line-up includes: Gadget Boys, Strawberry Shortcake, Inspector Gadget's Field Trip, Liberty Kids, All Dogs Go to Heaven, Stargate: Infinity, The Berenstain Bears, Sabrina's Secret Life, The Littles, Sherlock Holmes, Archie's Weird Mysteries, and Sabrina: The Animated Series.

The Littles and All Dogs Go to Heaven were the two that drastically surprised me. Littles is classic while All Dogs was under the radar substancially.

Shane, we hardly knew ya...

Fritz, news dude with attitude pops in with this:

"Due to an unfortunate series of events Mr. Billy Dallas Patton will not be pencilling the much anticipated Ghostbusters comic book series.

Also, in an article in the latest Toyfare magazine it mentions Mr. Shane Davis as being the Ghostbusters penciler. This information is unfortunately not correct and we want to apologize to Mr. Davis for any inconvenience it may have caused him. We are responsible for giving Toyfare incorrect information and we wish to absolve them of this error. We hope this has not caused too much trouble for the parties involved.

We are still seeking a professional penciler with a visual style that resembles that of Mr. Patton to replace him as the official Ghostbusters penciler.

All pencilers interested should send sequential art in JPG format to ghostbusters@88mphstudios.com"

And thusly, the mystery is solved- back to the Mystery Mobile kids!

New artist chosen for Ghostbusters!
Busted Friday, August 15, 2003, 9:09 PM by Netsolo

ToyFare reports that a new artist has already been chosen to pencil 88MPH's new comic!

"Ghosts and the Machine
'Ghostbusters' and 'Tron' Return to Comics

Two film faves from the '80's are making their much-anticipated return, this time to the world of comics. 88MPH Studios, makers of the upcoming Transformers:Genesis art book, have slated Ghostbusters and Tron comics for November release!

Both will start as four-issue miniseries written by Andrew Dabb (Vertigo's Happydale). Pencilled by Shane Davis (Robin), Ghostbusters will take place in the continuity of just the first film, picking up 6 months after Gozer's appearance in New York. The mini will be followed by an ongoing title, said Sebastien Clavet, 88 MPH's art director and sales editor. "We'll make sure that the tone of the series is more serious and any previous incarnation of the franchise" he said, "while keeping the unique humor that only GB has."

The first Tron mini, pencilled by newcomer Gabe Bridwell, will deal with the events following the recent Tron 2.0 video game. After that, a second mini will travel back in time 20 years to explore the universe of the original film and the classic characters that we've all grown to love there, said Clavet. He promises "enough eye candy to blow your mind away".

Both titles will be full-color, 22-page books."

Thanks for the tip Fritz!

Today back in 1984 was "the day" that Ray Parker Jr.'s catchy theme song to Ghostbusters climbed to number one on the charts (and the hearts of 80s children everywhere).
