May 2003New Ghostbusters comic official release... Well since an official press release has been posted, the HQ looks like it's back in the game of covering this thing. Head over to 88MPH's website for the press release. Among the highlights: "88 MPH Studios will be responsible for developing comic books, graphic novels, art books and trade paperbacks, posters, lithographs and wall scrolls." Also: "The 88 MPH Studios Ghostbusters products will be available through comic book stores in the United States and Canada beginning this fall." Head over to the release for more! To Tower I say! Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi will be performing singles from their new CD "Have Love Will Travel" at the Tower Records at the Galleria here in Los Angeles this Thursday night at 7pm. They'll be backed by a 13 piece band and hopefully a rockin' crowd. The Netmeister will hopefully see you all there! Counter: 61407 SNL with Dan A. This past Saturday Dan Aykroyd hosted SNL and over-all it was good, but disappointing. Opportunities for great jokes (especially on Weekend Update where I was waiting for a "Tina, you ignorant slut" which never came) were absolutely wasted. Said Weekend Update was filled with a lengthy "tribute" to departing cast member Chris Kattan who upon seeing his chararacters in a row reminded me of how little I will miss him. Highlights of the show: Seeing Aykroyd in space suit garb carrying around a strangly familiar Ghostbusters looking piece of equipment in a Astronaut Jones sketch. John Goodman as Anna Nicole Smith. Aykroyd's impression of Sam Elliot selling power to help the most uncomfortable of sitting situations. As a whole the writing of SNL has declined drastically in the last few years. Here's hoping that next season will show an improvement. Die-Cast Diorama News Castewar came up big a while back and I forgot to give him the nod over here on the HQ, head on over to Proton Charging for pictures of the new Johnny Lightning diorama including a repaint/reissue of the Ecto-1A and an NYPD Squad car. Oh, and did I mention figures of the Boys in Grey? Oooh... |
