Goodnight sweet GB3...
Busted Tuesday, March 30, 2004, 1:32 PM by Netsolo

I hate to be the bearer of bad news Ghostbusters 3 hopefuls, but as of 2:30pm Pacific Time, Tuesday March 23rd Baseline's Filmtracker, an inside Hollywood project tracker, has listed Ghostbusters 3 as "Inactive" at Sony/Columbia Pictures. A quick rundown of how the stages of production on a film works:

In Development (which GB3 was listed as since 2001) - Pre-Production - Shooting - Wrapped - Awaiting Release - Released

There are two snags which I'm sure you've heard of, "turnaround" and "inactive." They're not necessarily nails in the coffin but they sure aren't helpful to the cause and folks, a third Ghostbusters film has hit one of said snags.

But, as I always say, keep the faith. There's always possibility, because hey-- it's Hollywood.

GBHQ: We're rockin' the suburbs...
Busted Monday, March 29, 2004, 1:16 AM by Netsolo

Boo-yah...

Thanks to the stylin's of the HQ's very own Maverick a man who, about five years ago turned in some fan art to the site and now he's designing the place-- Ghostbusters HQ is back and better than ever. That being said, a few things must also be noted:

We're still working to get most of the subpages to fit within the new site design, so things are gonna stretch like Rosanne in spandex for a while around here. Bear with us.

What's the Comic Resource you might ask? Look kids, 88MPH's new comic is the best thing to happen to the GB franchise since sliced bread and you don't think a joint like the HQ is gonna take that lightly do you? Not only is the Comic Resource going to be your most excellent suppliment to the books with insights, behind the pages info, and even a store for you to get sweet swag through Graham Crackers but after you read the latest iss, you'll want to log into the Comic Resource to enhance what you've seen.

Look for that puppy to open up after Issue One hits stands on April 7!

All this glittery shiny stuff didn't come without a lot of blood, sweat, and tears- and we're not talkin' the band. Special thanks must go out to Mav, Bo, Cap'nN, Luke, and Neil for all the hard work, determination, and stragetery (gotta throw in a Dubya word or two).

So sit back, relax, post a message or two on the message boards, and make sure you've got a couple bucks in hand April 7th. Because there's only much better schtuff to come Ghostheads.

I'm not a big fan of the Jarmusch but the short films pieced together for the feature-length "Coffee and Cigarettes" has a new trailer out with a little Murray and Ghostbusters reference right off the bat. Check it out!

Want to see the 1:18 Ecto in its box?
Busted Thursday, March 25, 2004, 12:27 PM by Netsolo

Check out this eBay auction that is over and done with but has pictures of the ERTL Ecto 1 1:18 model in package and shows the final version of the car in all of its glory. Last we heard, April/May was the tentative release date so this makes a bit of sense that it's already hitting eBay. Stay tuned.

Thanks to Ryan LeClair for the scoop.

April 7th is THE day...

Official word from the 88 crew, the new 88MPH Ghostbusters comic will be hitting stands, mailboxes, and a third thing starting April 7th. No word on if there will be two issues now in May to make up for the delay but it's good to know that there's a date set in stone now.

See it... before you DIE!
Busted Monday, March 22, 2004, 6:01 PM by Netsolo

Ghostbusters has made Steven Jay Schneider's list of "100 Movies You Should See Before You Die." Though in the source news article, they would have you believe that's a bad thing.

Says the News Gleaner writer, "You'll find such questionable choices as Top Gun, Ghostbusters, Beverly Hills Cop and There's Something About Mary listed alongside excellent flops like The Right Stuff, Michael Mann's Manhunter and Scorsese's The Age of Innocence."

Everybody's a critic.

New IBOOKS novel in September?
Busted Tuesday, March 16, 2004, 12:45 PM by Netsolo

They've been talking about it being a series where most of the books will hit at the same time/around the same time but now IBOOKS is soliciting book numero dos of the Ghostbusters novel series (and it looks like they've officially dropped the subtitle of "Urban Legends" thankfully from the first book). September 1, 2004 is the date listed though I'm sure that's subject to change.

BIG BADDA BOOM 88MPH News...

More Newsarama madness this morning as 88MPH has given them a few sample pages of the comic for your review. Hey, you can't see the whole thing for another week or so, but maybe this'll tide you over (or start you drooling like a bad Pavlov experiment).
