February 2003Slime and cornbread... Head over to the Superstation on Monday, March 3 at 8pm EST to watch Ghostbusters on TBS' Dinner and a Movie. They'll be making "I Ain't Afraid of No Roast!" Thanks to Stayinpuft on the boards for the heads up! Fear not... You may have noticed that there have been few updates compared to when the site relaunched-- have no fear, Ghostheads. I haven't lost the faith. Actually we've begun production on the long in development "Romanticism Undercover" and shooting has been taking up 100 percent of my waking hours. Things will be back to normal this Monday (the 24th). More news, more zany anecdotes, more chances to win a date with one of the frequents over on the IRC channel... bwuahahahaha! Catch you on the flip side of production. Johnny Lightning diorama update... JESUSFREAK spotted a nice picture of the upcoming Ecto/Police Car Diorama over on the figures.com website from Toyfair 2003. I like the packaging, nice to see the Ghostbusters logo so prominently displayed. The funny thing is that the Ecto doesn't appear in the demo unit shown on display. Could be that they haven't finished the new mold or they haven't gotten all the licensing rights that they need (which would explain why the mini-figures seem to have nothing to do with Ghostbusters). Should be a great addition to all of our collections despite these setbacks! RGB forgotten... again... Head over to a new poll that Columbia Tri-Star (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment) is running for what TV series you would like to see released on DVD... notice that Real Ghostbusters is not anywhere on there (yet Silver Spoons is? Sigh.)? Write those emails, make those calls, express that interest-- because if freakin' Silver Spoons is being considered... 50,000, no less! I didn't notice this until today but yesterday the HQ hit its 50,000th user since April 22, 2001. That means that our average site volume has nearly tripled in the past few months!! Wow! Thanks for your support, Ghostheads. You keep visiting and we'll keep working! TMNT and unrelated mumbo jumbo... With the release of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon (airing 10:30EST on Fox stations Saturday Mornings) I thought that it would be a really good time to pimp the main man Neil (TheShredder1) and his site that is actually the host of this lovely place we like to call the HQ. Head over to www.ninjaturtlesnetwork.com where you can get your fill of the TMNT as well as donate money to Neil and the server. Did I also mention that you can donate money to Neil and his server there as well? Every little bit helps, especially if you'd like to see features on the HQ like the fan films, we need to get some money pumped into this old girl for the bandwidth! More cool eBay finds... d_osborn over on the Ghostbusters.net boards has found this port of the Data East arcade game for the Commodore 64. Even the Netmeister didn't know that this bad boy ever existed, quite a cool find (and it's a cassette, remember those? Wow!) Something to spend a whole lotta money on... Check out this eBay auction of one of the Boss Film's Terror Dog Prototypes. Talk about weird, it doesn't even look like the drawings that were in the pre-production art but it's still cool looking (and at 700 clams you better REALLY want one of these). Bill Murray and an elephant walk into a bar... Bill Murray's not too well-received but worth a look comedy "Larger Than Life" has hit DVD sadly, with no bonus features. Check it out at your local store! Space Shuttle Columbia... The thoughts and prayers of Ghostbusters HQ Senior and Contributing editors as well as the Ghosthead community go out to the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia and their families and friends. May this world not be the final frontier for the Columbia and her crew... Original Ghostbusters II Shooting Script for sale... Check out this auction over on eBay. It's a rare opportunity to own one of the actual shooting scripts used on the set of Ghostbusters II (which includes the various page colors to show changes to the draft made during filming. It even comes with a print of ILM concept art, how cool is that? Check it out! |
